Super pumped to share this with you!
I’m planning to release an edition of all 4 of the Fooko Series books in November sometime.
I loved working with Deranged Doctor Design on this. I mean, they did all the work, listening to what I wanted and executing it. They’re geniuses. <3
I took a hiatus for half of July and August, but I’m back now, and stronger than ever. You know how it works . . . with breaks and such. How they rejuvenate . . .
I went a few places. Saw a few things. Expanded my mind, not with Zen or drugs, but with brutal, unrelenting exposure to the freeway, the chilly clime of Northern California, and my kids.
With no breaks.
To be fair, my amazing cousins were there to help out. And I wasn’t necessarily doing it for myself, although it was epic and I came away from the adventure with the knowledge that I’m a warrior who can do anything I set my mind to (like break a stack of bricks with my forehead . . . I totally did that! heh) and if I want it bad enough.
So that’s why I’m here, again, and I’m not stopping until I rule the world . . . with my mind . . . and uh, my books. And the characters in my books! We’ll dominate together!
I don’t know what that means, really. But I know that I’m pumped to do this cover reveal. The colors look fabulous. And I’m excited to say that this has a tentative release date for the end of September.
So here it is, the cover for Book 3 in the Holly Drake series! It comes out on July 12 and it will not be in Kindle Unlimited. I’m putting that announcement here now, so you can plan your future reading.
Here’s why: Amazon has been having issues with page reads. I’m not really sure what’s happening, but I don’t want these bots to result in my books getting banned from Amazon altogether. So, I’m taking all my books out of Kindle Unlimited. I’m sorry to do this to my readers, and I am myself a subscriber. But I have absolutely no idea how I can protect myself from these supposed click-farms/bots or whatever. If Amazon came out with a definitive: do not use these promotion sites, do not do A, B, or C, then I could have some security in knowing what it is I can do to protect my books from being targeted.
Anyway, this is supposed to be a happy post about my awesome cover! Thanks to Milo at Deranged Doctor for doing such a fucking bang-up job on making Holly Drake and her world come to life! I haven’t named book 4 yet, but there will be a book 4! So stick around!

Ready for this? OK, so normally I want to have a post full of interesting things in addition to the cover reveal, but as it happens, I’m swamped with EVERYTHING at the moment. So I’m just going to throw this puppy up there and say thanks for coming by to check it out. Here is the pre-order link if you’re interested. There’s going to be more fun throughout the month of April leading up to the launch day on the 19th (giveaways, takeovers, etc!). So check back and like my Facebook page so you don’t miss a thing!
The City of Jade Spires, the biggest in the 6-moons, is a breathtaking symbol of hope and unity for the four races. But it’s also a hub of corruption. Holly Drake is proof of that. Fresh out of prison for a mistake framed to look like cold murder, she’s broke, jobless, and branded with a prison record.
When she lands a gig stealing back the Eye of the Colossus jewels, the chance for a big payout means she won’t have to depend on anyone else. She’s never had that kind of freedom. She’ll do it. Even if the work is only a shade lighter than outright crime.
But soon she finds herself pursued by thugs from the Shadow Coalition, an underworld government that wants her dead. Pulling off the heist without getting killed means putting trust in recruits she hardly knows. The clock is ticking to get the jewels, but a mistake now could be fatal. Chasing across the 6-moons to complete the job will test her grit and determination to succeed when everything is stacked against her. More than that, finding out just what secrets the 6-moons hold will either turn her into the hero the moon system needs, or destroy her…

Meet Detective Gabe Bach, of the City of Jade Spires. He enjoys long rides on the spireway, unfiltered IPAs, wearing a jacket during an eclipse (there are just a few in the 6-moons region) and digging into a good homicide case.
Coming soon….patrons will get it first (free, except not free, because it’s patronage and all that!), after that, get it on Amazon.
Feed 3 comes out on December 15th and this post should have gone up yesterday. But let’s pretend that today is the 5th and not my mom’s birthday (Happy birthday, Mom! She doesn’t read my blog, haha, but if she happened to glance at it, I would definitely want her to know that she MUST have a happy birthday.).
I have a bunch of stuff planned to celebrate the long awaited release of this book. So I want to get right into it.
First of all, if you’re not signed up for my mailing list and you’re a fan of my Feed series (also known as the Fooko series), then you should know that if you DO sign up for it, you will receive a copy of “Feed 0.5 (Genesis)”, which is only available to my newsletter subscribers. Here’s the link to do that.
Secondly, the cover of the new book!
Feed 3 is going to be available in paperback and as a Kindle edition. It won’t be available from any other retailer except Amazon. If it ever is, I’ll let you know. For now, you’ll be able to read it on Kindle Unlimited. It’s going to be on sale for 99 cents for the first week before it goes up to $2.99.
OK, one more thing. Feed 1 and 2 are currently not available in paperback because I’m still reformatting them into the smaller (and better) size. As soon as they’re back on sale as paper back, I’ll let you know.
One of my earliest short stories just got a new cover. Check it out below! Also, if you’re into sci-fi shorts, this one is free till Tuesday at midnight, so download it now, read it later (or now, you know, if that’s what you want to do).
In other updates, I’m going to be at a table in the artist alley at SLC Fan Xperience (Matt Smith asked me to be his date! Kidding. But you know he’s going to be there, right?). Look for me mooching off my sweet friends at the iPlates table. I’ll have hard copies of some of my books if you want to buy any of them without having to pay shipping. Or taxes.
Also, Feed 3 is still coming out soon. It’s STILL at the proofreader. Geez. Who is this proofreader? She takes FOREVER (it’s my mom. She’s awesome). Kidding, proofreader. You rocks.
I meant to say “rocks.” As if she hasn’t done everything for me already in my life–making me, going through LABOR for me,raising me, and picking me up STILL when I fail or get depressed, now I’m making her proof my books! I’m spoiled. I really am.
Anyway, here’s the super sweet cover. Hopefully everyone loves it as much as I do!
So I updated the Cities of the Sun short story cover on Amazon. It runs for .99 cents, just because I can’t make it free without doing loopty-doos and crazy tricks using Smashwords, but right now it’s FREE. It should be LIVE tomorrow. Check it out (yeah, the hot guy really does have something to do with the actual story, I mean, have you READ it?)!
Feed 3 is gearing up for publication! So, with that in mind I wanted to throw the cover out there for your eyeballs to ogle and your brains to sup from.
Sup from. Sick.
I mean, that should be “from which for your brains to sup.” That . . . that looks wrong. Let me see. “for your brains from which to sup.” Still . . . just, not right.
Who cares? I will use the awkward phrase if I want!
Anyway, the Feed 3 cover is pretty awesome. I mean, what I love about it is the theme of surveillance, in this kind of old school propaganda look. That sort of propaganda is part of the corporate/government state within the books. So it’s fun to carry it out into the real world. *Shiver*
And remember, Feed 3 is ALL NEW MATERIAL. Some new characters turn up and things get a little more twisty-turny. I think you’ll have a hard time deciding who is bad and who is good, because, isn’t that the way it always is? I mean, who is all bad, like in real life? There’s a few out there, but hopefully most of us don’t have to hang out with that sort of abhorrent monster. Right?
Godfrey*. I hope not.
Hmm. I could probably sit here and ramble on about book 3 and 4 all night. But I’ll save it. Maybe for the cover reveal for book 4! OOOOOOH.
So here’s the cover for Feed 3.
*Godfrey is a non-swear my mother likes to use. It’s similar to its brother “Gadfrey.” Or “Gad,” which she also uses.
